Highlights of England vs. Pakistan in the 2023 Cricket World Cup: England defeated Pakistan in their last league game on Saturday in Kolkata, capping out their 2023 World Cup campaign with back-to-back victories. Pakistan was knocked out for 244 runs in 43.3 overs while chasing a goal of 338 runs. In the 338-run chase at Eden Garden in Kolkata, Pakistan was reduced to 10/2 as David Willey removed Abdullah Shafique and Fakhar Zaman early. After Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan completed some reconstruction, Gus Atkinson took Babar out for 38(45). In the 23rd over, Moeen Ali quickly removed Rizwan (36). In the end, David Willey claimed three wickets, marking his 100th wicket in an ODI. He removed Salam Ali Agha (51) in addition to Zaman and Shafique. Abdul Wahid Jr. (16*) established a partnership for the last wicket with Haris Rauf (35), but England won the match when Chris Woakes removed the latter in the 44th over.

Earlier, England chose to bat first against Pakistan and put on a strong display. Before reaching Shaheen Afridi, Ben Stokes, who had hit a century in the previous match, carried on with his incredible run and contributed with a crucial 84 off 76 balls. After Stokes was dismissed on 10, the bowler went on to put up a hundred and more runs for the third wicket with Joe Root. Before being dismissed for 60(72) runs, Root also reached his half-century against Shaheen, who claimed two wickets in his allotted overs.

England got off to a great start under Jonny Bairstow and Dawid Malan, who put up 82 runs for the first wicket before Iftikhar Ahmed broke the partnership in the fourteenth over. Malan left for the 31(39). After reaching his 50th birthday, Bairstow was eventually eliminated by Haris Rauf for 59(61). Jos Buttler and Harry Brook both contributed significantly toward the finish. Buttler scored 27 off 18, and Brook added 17 off 30 balls.
