Women’s T20 World Cup: Women Squad Members, Grouping, Dates & Details

Women’s T20 World Cup: The All-India women’s selection committee on Wednesday announced Indian team for the upcoming ICC Women’s T-20 World Cup 2023. According to the officials, the tri-series will commence in the month of January in South Africa, whereas the World Cup will start from February 10. India has its first face-off match with Pakistan on February 12 on the ground of Cape Town.

Indian Team is in the Group 2 along with Pakistan, England, West Indies and Ireland. The top two teams from the two groups will play the semis. The ICC World Cup 2023 finals will be held on 26 February in Cape Town.

Indian Women’s Team

Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the team as the captain, said BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India). The Indian woemn’s selection team has picked up the strongest 15-memebers from the women squad. BCCI has announced that, Smriti Mandhana will be Harmanpreet’s deputy in the ICC’s marquee event.

In the upcoming matches, Indian team will have experienced fast bowler Shikha Pandey. The 33-year-old fast bowler will play for the World Cup team. Earlier, she played for India in October 2021 before being dropped from the team. Her strength lies in swinging the ball. Shikha has played three Tests, 55 ODIs and 56 T20 matches.

BCCI Women has shared a tweet mentioning all the details of the squad members.

Indian Squad For Upcoming Tri-Series

In addition with the T-20 World Cup women squad, the board has announced the team for the tri-series in South Africa. The tri-series will take place before the cricketing extravaganza.
