District administration officials in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, are planning to build a mini-stadium and an open gym in the village of Team India pacer Mohammed Shami in response to his outstanding performance against New Zealand in the semifinal match. Rajesh Tyagi, the district magistrate of Amroha, made a statement in this regard on Friday. In an interview with ANI, DM Rajesh Tyagi stated, “A proposal has been made to construct a mini-stadium and open gym in the village (Sahaspur Alinagar) of Mohammed Shami.”
The plan is to establish an open gym and a mini-stadium in Sahaspur Alinagar, the home town of India’s most famous pacer.
Despite missing the first part of the league stage matches, Shami, who has been a standout player in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023, displayed his deadly skills and made a significant contribution to his team’s journey to the final.
Leader of the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) party Jayant Singh has expressed support by pushing for funding to help build a sports complex in Shami’s village.
“I am keen to provide my #MPLAD funds to aid the construction of a sports facility in the village (Sahapur Alinagar) of@MdShami11. #ICCWorldCup2023 #WorldcupFinal,” Singh wrote in a post to X.
Shami’s mastery over left-arm hitters is largely due to his brilliance in that regard. Shami has been a batter’s nightmare, but he has excelled against left-arm hitters. Shami has bowled 52 deliveries to left-arm batters during his WC run this year. Only 32 runs have been given up by him against them. Shami has taken 23 wickets at an average of 9.13 and a strike rate of 10.91 in six World Cup 2023 matches. His 7/57 figures are his best. Thus far in the tournament, he has taken the most wickets.
