The national cricket selection committee for Team Women India today on Friday (December 2) announced the Indian women’s team for the five-match T20 series against Australia. The team led by Harmanpreet Kaur has suffered a major setback losing its all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar in the contest against the Team Australia. The BCCI informed that Pooja will not be there due to injury.

The five-match T20 series between the Indian women’s cricket team and Australia will begin on December 9 at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium. The contest is going to witness the return of Maharashtra’s left-handed all-rounder Devika Vaidya to the team after more than four years.

The Australia tour of India schedule is as follows:

December 9, 1st T-20- D.Y. Patil Stadium
11 December, 2nd T-20 International – D.Y. Patil Stadium
14 December, 3rd T-20 International – CCI
17 December, Fourth T-20 – CCI
20 December 5th T-20I – CCI

The first and second matches against Australia during the series will be played on 9th of December and 11th of December at DY Patil Stadium. Then the last three matches of the series will be played at the CCI-Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai itself on 14, 17 and 20 December. At present, the Indian women’s cricket team is performing well. However, the lack of all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar will definitely debilitates the team strength.
