As per the announcement by the BCCI, the India Women Squad is going to play a T-20 series against Australia.
Harmanpree Kaur as the skipper of the team women India, has suffered a major setback losing its all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar for the next contest against Team Australia. The BCCI has informed that Pooja is out of the Indian squad due to injury.
The India women squad includes Harmanpreet Kaur (Captain), Smriti Mandhana (Vice-Captain), Shefali Verma, Yastika Bhatia (Wicket-keeper), Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Radha Yadav, Rajeshwari Gaikwad, Renuka Singh Thakur, Meghna Singh, Anjali Sarwani, Devika Vaidya, S Meghna, Richa Ghosh (wicketkeeper) and Harleen Deol.
The national cricket selection committee for Team Women India today on Friday (December 2) announced the Indian women’s team for the five-match T20 series against Australia. The team led by Harmanpreet Kaur has suffered a major setback losing its all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar in the contest against the Team Australia. The BCCI informed that Pooja will not be there due to injury.
The five-match T20 series between the Indian women’s cricket team and Australia will begin on December 9 at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium. The contest is going to witness the return of Maharashtra’s left-handed all-rounder Devika Vaidya to the team after more than four years.
The Australia tour of India schedule is as follows:
December 9, 1st T-20- D.Y. Patil Stadium
11 December, 2nd T-20 International – D.Y. Patil Stadium
14 December, 3rd T-20 International – CCI
17 December, Fourth T-20 – CCI
20 December 5th T-20I – CCI
The first and second matches against Australia during the series will be played on 9th of December and 11th of December at DY Patil Stadium. Then the last three matches of the series will be played at the CCI-Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai itself on 14, 17 and 20 December. At present, the Indian women’s cricket team is performing well. However, the lack of all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar will definitely debilitates the team strength.
