Shubman Gill
Only Babar Azam is ahead of Shubman Gill in the ICC men’s ODI batter rankings, which is a career-high for the batsman.
Gill moved up one rank despite only scoring 19 against Sri Lanka in his subsequent match because of his 58 against Pakistan in the Asia Cup Super Four match and 121-run opening partnership with captain Rohit Sharma.
The eighth and ninth positions are now held by Virat Kohli, who scored an undefeated century against Pakistan, and Rohit, who scored 53 and 56 runs in the previous week after scoring 74 runs against Nepal on September 4. Both players have moved up two spots.
Additionally, three Indian hitters are listed in the top ten of the ODI rankings for the first time since September 2018. Rohit, Kohli, and Shikhar Dhawan were all in the top six four years ago.
Pakistan also has three batters in the top ten, with Babar still leading Gill by more than 100 rating points, Imam-ul-Haq in fifth place, and Fakhar Zaman in tenth.
Temba Bavuma, who has scored three hundred and two half centuries in his previous eight ODIs, has moved up 21 spots to a career-best No. 11. He produced an undefeated 114 against Australia last week, which was followed by scores of 46 and 57.
