Shubman Gill beat the Kiwis in Hyderabad, scored double century, broke many records

Shubman Gill Breaks Big Record: India’s young opener Shubman Gill continues to showcase his batting skills in the ODI format. This young batsman played a blistering inning against New Zealand in Hyderabad. Gill not only handled the Indian innings but also registered his name in the record books by playing a stormy inning. Gill has completed 1000 runs in just their 19th ODI innings. Gill has now jointly become the second batsman in the world to score a thousand runs in the shortest innings.

Shubman Gill hit a double century

Shubman Gill hit a double century in the first ODI against New Zealand in Hyderabad. This young batsman completed his double century in 145 balls. The special thing is that Shubman Gill is the fifth Indian player to score a double century in ODIs. Before this, Rohit Sharma scored three double-centuries. First, this feat was done by Sachin Tendulkar. After this, Sehwag and Ishaan Kishan also scored double centuries.

Shubman Gill becomes India’s new ‘run machine’

While making this big record, Gill also broke the record of Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan, who took 24 innings to reach this milestone. Gill started the match at 106 runs short of the 1000-run mark and scored a brilliant century to create history.

Overall in this list, Gill is joint second fastest in ODI cricket with Imam-ul-Haq of Pakistan. Fakhar Zaman is at the top of the table after achieving this feat in 18 innings.
