The ODI World Cup 2023, which starts on October 5 in Ahmedabad, will have a staggered sale of tickets, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Tuesday. On October 8, India plays their opening game against Australia in Chennai, and on October 14, they face their bitter rival Pakistan in Ahmedabad.
The fans won’t be able to purchase tickets for every game at once, though. The spectators will get access to the tickets in a staggered fashion. The distribution of tickets for all non-Indian event matches and non-Indian warm-up matches will begin on August 25; however, registration for tickets has already begun and won’t be available until then.
Tickets for India matches in Trivandrum and Guwahati will go on sale beginning August 30, while those for the matchups in Chennai, Delhi, and Pune will go on sale beginning August 31. India’s matches in Dharamsala, Lucknow, and Mumbai will begin selling tickets on September 1; Bengaluru and Kolkata will begin selling tickets the next day.
Finally, on September 3, ticket sales will begin for India matches in Ahmedabad. On October 14, Pakistan will play India. Beginning on September 15, tickets for the semifinal and championship games will go on sale.
“Starting on August 15, fans will have the chance to express their interest in purchasing tickets by visiting https://www.cricketworldcup.com/register. This will allow them to learn about ticket information first, help ensure their place at the World Cup, and enjoy a full day of cricket, according to a statement from the ICC outlining the procedure.
