Riyan Parag Scores 90 As Rajasthan Royals Post 225/6 Against Delhi Capitals

Riyan Parag played a leading role as Rajasthan Royals compiled 225/6 in 20 overs against the Delhi Capitals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Friday.

Although Mitchell Starc struck crucial blows towards the end, Rajasthan sustained enough momentum to post a challenging score.

The innings opened dramatically when Yashasvi Jaiswal launched a six off his first delivery but departed shortly after, handing an easy return catch. Rajasthan slipped to 6/1 almost immediately.

Soon after, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi lost his wicket to a precise yorker delivered by Kyle Jamieson, leaving the side at 12/2 inside two overs.

With early wickets falling, Parag combined with Dhruv Jurel to rebuild the innings. Their partnership steadied the side and carried Rajasthan to 56/2 by the end of the Power Play.

Delhi Capitals tightened control through disciplined bowling from Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel, restricting the scoring rate and keeping Rajasthan at 91/2 after ten overs.

Parag increased the tempo with calculated aggression, reaching his half-century from 32 deliveries. He continued to find boundaries regularly, moving to 60 off 34 balls and pushing the total past the 100-run mark.

Jurel contributed a valuable 42 before departing, after which Ravindra Jadeja stepped up the scoring.

Parag attacked Jamieson effectively, helping Rajasthan reach 166/3 by the 16th over.

At a crucial stage, Starc shifted the momentum by removing Jadeja with a change of pace and then dismissing Parag with a well-directed delivery. Parag’s innings ended on 90 from 50 balls, and Rajasthan slipped to 173/5.

Donovan Ferreira injected fresh energy into the innings with a powerful cameo. He accelerated rapidly, finishing unbeaten on 47 from just 14 balls and striking multiple boundaries.

His aggressive approach ensured Rajasthan finished strongly, reaching 225/6 by the end of their innings.
