Renowned Pakistani Pacer Claims Rohit Sharma Surpasses Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar as India’s Greatest Player Ever

For the majority of the 2023 World Cup, India’s top players had outstanding performances; however, the team failed to advance past the semifinals, losing to Australia by six wickets. India had beaten every team they had played before, so going into the final, they were the clear favorites to take home the trophy.

Senior hitters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s hot streak throughout the tournament was largely attributed to their hitting form. By hitting three hundred, Kohli eclipsed Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the most tons in One-Day International cricket. In the format, he also became the first player to score 50 centuries. Later, after scoring 765 runs in 11 games, Kohli also surpassed Tendulkar’s record for most runs in a World Cup campaign.

Even though Rohit only had one century, his style of scoring runs made him just as memorable as Kohli. He finished as the second-highest scorer in the tournament with 597 runs at a strike percentage of 125.94. Many pundits have attributed India’s wins primarily to the starts that Rohit provided, and now, Pakistan’s seasoned fast bowler Junaid Khan believes that the captain of India should be ranked as the country’s greatest batter of all time, surpassing even Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar.

I believe it to be Rohit Sharma. He has a variety of shots in his book because of the way he bats. Junaid stated as much on the Nadir Ali Podcast. “That’s why he is called the Hitman.” According to Junaid, Rohit’s greatness is demonstrated by the fact that he has amassed the most team sixes in ODI cricket and the greatest number of double-hundreds. The only player to have three double hundreds in men’s ODIs is Rohit, who achieved the highest-ever score in an ODI match in 2014 against Sri Lanka with a 173-ball 264. He broke the record for the most sixes in international cricket during the 2023 World Cup.

“Making two more double hundreds after scoring 264 in an ODI is a task in and of itself.” Repetitive performance indicates the presence of a particular quality. Additionally, he has hit the most sixes for India. Thus, I support Rohit,” declared Junaid, who represented Pakistan in 22 Tests, 76 ODIs, and nine T20Is between 2011 and 2019.
