RCB Opt To Bowl Against LSG In IPL 2026 Clash At Chinnaswamy Stadium

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won the toss and chose to field first against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 23rd match of the IPL 2026 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday.

RCB introduced one change to their line-up, bringing in Josh Hazlewood in place of Jacob Duffy, while Virat Kohli was named among the impact substitutes. LSG decided to stick with the same team combination.

RCB captain Rajat Patidar explained that the team preferred to chase, citing the improved pitch conditions compared to the previous match. He added that the surface appeared balanced and could offer consistent play.

LSG skipper Rishabh Pant remained optimistic, stating that the pitch looked suitable for batting and stressing the importance of collective responsibility and strong performances from the squad.

RCB came into the match after a convincing 57-run win over the Mumbai Indians, whereas LSG entered the contest following a loss to the Gujarat Titans.

RCB occupy the third position in the league table and look to climb higher with another win, while LSG sit seventh with two wins and two losses.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have enjoyed greater success in this fixture, winning four matches compared to Lucknow Super Giants’ two victories.

In their previous meeting during the 2025 season, RCB secured a comfortable six-wicket win.
