Punjab Kings vs Lucknow Super Giants IPL 2026: PBKS Win By 54 Runs, Stay Unbeaten

Punjab Kings continued their unbeaten run in IPL 2026 with a commanding 54-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday, successfully defending a season-high total of 254/7.

After setting up the match with the bat, PBKS bowlers delivered a composed performance.

Marco Jansen led the effort with 2-37, while Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Vijaykumar Vyshak picked up one wicket each to restrict LSG to 200/5.

PBKS’ imposing total was built on stunning knocks from Priyansh Arya, who smashed 93 off 37 balls, and Cooper Connolly, who struck 87 off 46. Their aggressive partnership powered the side to one of the season’s highest totals.

Chasing 255, LSG tried a new opening combination with Mitchell Marsh and Ayush Badoni, who added 61 runs. The steep target, however, kept mounting pressure.

Marsh, Rishabh Pant, and Aiden Markram scored in the 40s but failed to convert starts into match-defining innings. Vyshak broke the opening stand, while Chahal dismissed Marsh to halt momentum.

Pant briefly counterattacked with quick boundaries but fell for 43, confirmed via UltraEdge. Nicholas Pooran continued his lean run, departing for nine.

Late contributions from Markram (42) and Mukul Choudhary (21 not out), aided by dropped chances, came too late as the result was never in doubt. The loss marked LSG’s third consecutive defeat, pushing them to eighth place on the table.

Brief Scores:

Punjab Kings 254/7 (Priyansh Arya 93, Cooper Connolly 87; Prince Yadav 2-25, M Siddharth 2-35) beat Lucknow Super Giants 200/5 (Rishabh Pant 43, Aiden Markram 42; Marco Jansen 2-37, Vijaykumar Vyshak 1-30) by 54 runs.
