Punjab Kings Post 200/8 Against Mumbai Indians As Prabhsimran, Omarzai Shine

Punjab Kings compiled a total of 200/8 in their 20 overs against Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League 2026 at Dharamshala. Prabhsimran Singh produced a composed half-century, while Azmatullah Omarzai added impetus with an aggressive late innings.

Punjab Kings adopted a measured approach at the start, with Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh settling in cautiously. The scoring rate improved gradually as Arya struck boundaries against Jasprit Bumrah.

Although Deepak Chahar maintained discipline with the ball, Prabhsimran countered by attacking Shardul Thakur in the fifth over.

Mumbai Indians claimed their first wicket when Chahar dismissed Arya towards the end of the powerplay. Arya contributed 22 runs as Punjab moved to 58/1 after six overs.

Prabhsimran continued to dominate the innings and brought up his fifty in quick time. His innings concluded at 57 when he was caught off Thakur while attempting an attacking stroke.

Shardul Thakur struck again to remove Shreyas Iyer, putting Punjab under pressure. The batting side then lost momentum as Cooper Connolly was dismissed soon after.

Suryansh Shedge failed to build on a promising start, and Shashank Singh was adjudged lbw by Corbin Bosch. Thakur added another wicket by dismissing Marco Jansen, completing his four-wicket haul.

Amid the collapse, Azmatullah Omarzai shifted the momentum with a counterattacking innings. He struck several sixes and boundaries to accelerate the scoring rate.

Omarzai made 38 runs off 17 deliveries before being dismissed while attempting another big shot.

In the closing overs, Vishnu Vinod chipped in with a valuable 15 runs. Xavier Bartlett remained unbeaten on 18, helping the team cross the 200-run mark.

For the Mumbai Indians, Shardul Thakur delivered the most impactful spell, finishing with figures of 4/39. Deepak Chahar claimed two wickets, while Bosch and Raj Angad Bawa took one each.
