PM Modi Lauds Indian Men’s Team For Kho Kho World Cup Triumph

PM Modi congratulated the Indian men’s and women’s Kho Kho teams for their historic victories at the first-ever Kho Kho World Cup.

The Indian men’s team clinched the title with a dominant 54-36 win over Nepal, while the women’s team triumphed with an emphatic 78-40 victory against Nepal. The finals were held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on Sunday, marking a momentous occasion for the sport in India.

PM Modi’s Praise For Men’s Team

In his remarks, PM Modi expressed immense pride in the Indian men’s team’s victory. He praised their dedication and hard work, which culminated in a commanding performance in the final. The Prime Minister highlighted that this victory would further popularize Kho Kho among the youth of India.

“Today’s a great day for Indian Kho Kho. I am incredibly proud of the Indian Men’s Kho Kho team for winning the Kho Kho World Cup title. Their grit and dedication are commendable,” PM Modi wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “This win will further popularise Kho Kho among the youth”, he added.

PM Modi Lauds Women’s Team Historic Victory

The Prime Minister also congratulated the Indian women’s team for their exceptional performance throughout the tournament. Their dominant display in the final sealed a historic victory, marking their place in Kho Kho history. PM Modi attributed their success to their unparalleled skill, determination, and teamwork.

“Congratulations to the Indian women’s team on winning the first-ever Kho Kho World Cup! This historic victory is a result of their unparalleled skill, determination, and teamwork,” Modi wrote on X. He added, “This triumph has brought more spotlight to one of India’s oldest traditional sports, inspiring countless young athletes across the nation.”

Dominant Performances In Finals

Both teams delivered remarkable performances in their respective finals. The Indian men’s team, led by captain Pratik Waikar and standout player Ramji Kashyap, dominated Nepal with a 54-36 victory. On the women’s side, the Indian team crushed Nepal 78-40 to clinch the title, showcasing their superior teamwork and strategy.

PM Modi believes this victory will not only raise the profile of Kho Kho but also encourage more youngsters to take up the sport in the future. With both teams’ remarkable successes, Kho Kho is now poised to gain greater recognition and inspire future athletes to pursue traditional Indian sports.
