“No one in Indian cricket is in a position to question his decisions,” Rayudu said regarding MS Dhoni’s enduring legacy

MS Dhoni is regarded as one of the greatest captains in Indian cricket history. He has won multiple trophies with India, including the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy, the 2011 ODI World Cup, the 2007 T20 World Cup, and two Asia Cup trophies (2010, 2016).

Dhoni’s captaincy legacy extends beyond Team India to the Indian Premier League, where he captained Chennai Super Kings to two Champions League (CLT20) titles (2010/11 and 2014/15) and five league titles (2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, 2023) in addition to his legacy with Team India.

The 42-year-old recently guided CSK past Gujarat Titans in the final to win the IPL 2023 championship. As CSK overcame the favourites and reigning champions, Hardik Pandya’s GT, it turned out to be another typical final for Dhoni.

Fans weren’t shocked, then, when Dhoni’s erstwhile teammate Ambati Rayudu brought up the cricket legend from India’s legacy. “I mean, everybody knows that he has brought out the best in so many players and across formats, even he has brought out the best in many foreigners that have played for CSK,” he said in a statement made on TRS Clips. I believe he possesses it. He is either blessed or has developed it over the course of so many years of playing the sport, so much so that I am at a loss for words. However, I frequently question why he is acting in a way that doesn’t seem appropriate. However, in the end, the data demonstrate that he was correct 99.9 per cent of the time, demonstrating his expertise and longevity in the field. As a result, I don’t believe anyone in Indian cricket is in a position to question his judgment at this point due to his level of success.”

He went on to say, “Of course, it doesn’t matter,” in response to Dhoni’s treatment of foreign players during the IPL. Since he is our leader, he doesn’t shout just for the fun of it. However, he will gently inform them that these are the typical types.”

In the 2024 Indian Premier League, Dhoni will play again as captain of CSK. His admirers will be hoping he adds another trophy to his collection.
