“No Night Flights,” Indian Cricket Team In West Indies Informs BCCI After A Protracted Wait At Airport

After the second Test match against the West Indies, the Indian team expressed dissatisfaction with the itinerary for travel from Trinidad to Barbados and asked that no additional late-night flights be scheduled.

The Indian squad was scheduled to depart Trinidad at 11 p.m. and arrive in Barbados at dawn. However, their aircraft didn’t take off until three in the morning, and they didn’t get to their next location until five.

As a result, the management of the Indian squad has asked for better planning for their upcoming trip, asking to fly early in the morning rather than late at night.

Rain prevented the conclusion of the final day of the second Test match, resulting in India’s 1-0 victory in the two-Test series.

They left the hotel for the airport around 8:40 p.m., but they had a lengthy wait there. Since the players need some recovery after the game, the team management has asked us to plan a morning flight rather than a late-night flight. The BCCI has accepted it and intends to change the upcoming schedule, according to a source within the organisation.

Leading players have asked the Indian team management for a day off from training in Barbados as a result.

The Indian squad will play two one-day internationals in Bridgetown, Barbados, on July 27 and 29, after which they are expected to go back to Trinidad and play their third ODI on August 1.

Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Sanju Samson, and Umran Mallik, players who were only selected for the Indian ODI squad, have arrived in Barbados and will be joining the rest of the team.

Camp before Asia Cup

Just before the Asia Cup, the Indian team management and the National Cricket Academy (NCA) have scheduled a week-long camp in Bangalore.

Although the Indian team for the Ireland series has not yet been chosen, it is known that a backup side will be travelling to Ireland. Players who are potentially selected for the 50-over ICC World Cup will not play in the Ireland series. The Indian board has asked that players be kept for the ICC World Cup, which begins on October 5, in a conversation with selectors and team management.

BCCI requests a gathering of state associations

All staging associations for the ICC World Cup 2023 have been asked in a letter from BCCI Secretary Jay Shah to meet in Delhi on July 27 to assess the work that has been done.
“I believe it will be better for everyone involved if we get together once more to share notes and go through any issues that need to be discussed and resolved. In light of this, you are hereby invited to participate in a meeting of the World Cup hosting associations, according to a letter given to each state organisation.
