During his visit to the US, former Indian cricketer MS Dhoni was seen playing golf with former US President Donald Trump. Dhoni picked up a golf club at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, after being seen earlier watching the US Open quarterfinal between Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev. The former Indian captain traveled to the USA for his vacation.
In a video that’s doing the rounds on social media, Dhoni can be seen hitting the golf ball in the direction of the hole as the former US President watches intently. Trump was sporting a red ‘MAGA’ cap as the 42-year-old posed for a photo with him while sporting long hair. Netizens were in wonderment when they watched Dhoni play the sport in the USA. The CSK captain’s “craze” and “fever” in the USA were much praised.
The defending champion Carlos Alcaraz’s victory over Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals on Thursday was also witnessed by the former Indian captain. Dhoni was spotted sitting behind Alcaraz in the Arthur Ashe Stadium stands during one of the cooling-off intervals between the two tennis players’ two-and-a-half-hour match. In addition, this was not the first tennis match that the CSK captain had attended as a spectator. He also witnessed Carlos Alcaraz’s match versus Jannik Sinner at the US Open the previous year.
During the Indian Premier League 2023, Dhoni played cricket. When the Chennai Super Kings overcame the Gujarat Titans in a thrilling IPL final in Ahmedabad, he guided his team to a victory that tied a record for the most IPL championships.
Despite having a knee problem, the former Indian captain participated in the entire tournament and did not miss any of his team’s games. After that, he had surgery at a facility in Mumbai on his problematic left knee. He said that, while it depends on his body, he might think about playing in the league again the following season.
