Following India’s 2023 Cricket World Cup campaign, Mohammed Shami is currently taking a well-earned break. However, he made headlines once more when he saved a victim of a car accident in Nainital. The pacer helped the accident victim whose car slid off the road in a video that he uploaded to Instagram.
Captioning the video, Shami wrote, “He’s so lucky god gave him 2nd life. His car fell down from the hill road near Nainital just in front of my car. We took him out very safely. Shami’s World Cup tale was akin to a successful motion picture. He was even included in the playing XI at first, but Rohit Sharma changed the lineup following Hardik Pandya’s injury, substituting Shami for Shardul Thakur. His debut came against New Zealand, where he took 5/54, after missing the first four games. With 24 wickets in the competition, he was the highest wicket-taker after taking seven wickets in the semi-finals.

In the meantime, Virat Kohli, who scored the most runs, was named the tournament’s player of the year. In 11 matches, the former captain of India amassed 765 runs, including three century and seven half-centuries. Along with players like Rohit, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja, among others, the pair are on rest and are not on the squad for India’s Twenty20 International series against Australia.
