Men’s T20 World Cup 2026: ICC Unveils Warm-Up Fixtures In India And Sri Lanka

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced the warm-up fixture list for the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup, confirming that 16 matches will be played in the lead-up to the main tournament.

These preparatory games will be held from February 2 to February 6. The Men’s T20 World Cup is scheduled to begin on February 7.

The warm-up matches will be spread across venues in India and Sri Lanka, the two co-hosts of the tournament.

Indian venues include the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, and also the Chennai’s iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium.

In Sri Lanka, teams will play matches at the SSC Cricket Ground, R Premadasa Stadium, and the Colombo Cricket Club Ground. These venues will provide a range of playing conditions ahead of the marquee event.

India, the reigning champions, are set to face South Africa in a warm-up match on February 4. The game will, however, be played at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

India ‘A’ will also play a key role during the warm-up phase. They are scheduled to face the USA on February 2 and Namibia on February 6 as part of their preparations.

Ticket Sales and Broadcast Details

The ICC stated fans keen to watch the USA v India ‘A’ and India v South Africa matches can buy tickets online via BookMyShow.

Tickets will also be available at the stadium’s ticket counters.

All matches featuring India and India ‘A’ will be shown live on Star Sports. The games will also be streamed across the country on Jio Hotstar.

The warm-up fixtures will begin with Afghanistan taking on Scotland in Bengaluru on February 2.

The schedule will conclude with India ‘A’ facing Namibia at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru on February 6.

These matches are expected to help teams adjust to local playing conditions. They will also allow sides to fine-tune their combinations ahead of the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
