Men’s HIL Opener: Russell’s Late Heroics Hand HIL GC A Thrilling 3-2 Victory Over SG Pipers

HIL GC opened their Men’s Hockey India League 2025-26 campaign with a pulsating 3-2 win against SG Pipers in Chennai. The victory was powered by a superb hat-trick from Kane Russell, capped by a decisive penalty corner in the dying seconds.

Goals from Ky Willott (31’) and Dilraj Singh (56’) kept SG Pipers firmly in the contest. Russell’s strikes in the 35th, 37th and 60th minutes ultimately proved decisive.
