Mayank Yadav Stars As India Complete 3-0 T20I Series Sweep Over Zimbabwe

India completed a dominant 3-0 T20I series sweep over Zimbabwe with a 35-run victory in the third and final match at the Harare Sports Club on Sunday.

The triumph also marked Shreyas Iyer’s maiden T20I series whitewash as India’s captain.

After arriving in Zimbabwe following disappointing series defeats in Ireland and England, India bounced back with an impressive all-round performance throughout the series.

Batting first, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi anchored the innings with a sparkling 81, helping India post a challenging 192/5 on a slow surface.

Sooryavanshi led the charge with an attacking knock, while Ishan Kishan added 29 to strengthen India’s total.

Zimbabwe’s bowling effort was led by Brad Evans (2/41), with Blessing Muzarabani claiming one wicket.

Defending 193, India struck immediately as Mayank Yadav dismissed Brian Bennett with the first ball of the innings, repeating his feat from the opening T20I.

Yash Thakur then removed Dion Myers (19) and captain Sikandar Raza in consecutive deliveries to leave Zimbabwe struggling early.

Despite dropped catches hurting India’s fielding effort, Zimbabwe never seriously threatened the target.

A 60-run partnership between Ryan Burl and Wessly Madhevere briefly offered resistance before Mayank dismissed Madhevere and later removed Brad Evans.

Ashok Sharma also claimed his maiden international wicket by dismissing Tadiwanashe Marumani.

Ryan Burl fought till the end with an unbeaten 54 off 42 balls, but India restricted Zimbabwe to 157/7, sealing a comfortable victory.
