Match Preview KKR VS CSK
Match Preview: KKR vs CSK- Subsequent to beginning their season with two dominant performances in three matches, the Kolkata Knight Riders’ IPL 2023 has plunged as they get back on the back foot after three misfortunes on the skip. The fact that they face Chennai Super Kings next doesn’t help matters either; Chennai Super Kings have a five-to-four advantage in games played at Eden Gardens and have won 17 of the 26 meetings between them.
This season, KKR’s batting up top has created an unsettling atmosphere. In the six matches, they have used four different opening combinations. Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who started the first five games, was replaced in the final game, against the Delhi Capitals. Litton Das and Jason Roy, both of them were playing their first game of the season. That was not very successful. Nitish Rana and Andre Russell have battled for consistency, while Rinku Singh hasn’t done much. Venkatesh Iyer has stood out with a 104, an 83, and a 34, yet in addition, he has three low scores.
The pace bowling that KKR has been using has also been a problem. Their quick bowlers have overseen only nine wickets in six games, going at an economy pace of 11.3. It hasn’t helped that the pack’s senior player, Umesh Yadav, has only taken one wicket in six games.
CSK has fewer worries, though a 48-hour turnaround might be one of them. They travel to Kolkata after playing Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday night, and with the temperature rising there, it might not be easy.

At Eden Gardens thus far this season, three of the four innings have seen hits of 200 or more. Interestingly, both games were won by the team that started first. The surface has played well for hitters, yet with the April sun baking down, there could be some assistance for the spinners. On Sunday, there is a possibility of a brief shower, which could slightly lower the temperature.
Kolkata Knight Riders: Shardul Thakur was benched for the last game, and he could come into the playing XI, replacing Kulwant Khejroliya or Umesh. Suyash Sharma and Venkatesh are likely to be impact players.
Chennai Super Kings: 1 Devon Conway, 2 Ruturaj Gaikwad, 3 Ajinkya Rahane, 4 Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube 6 Ambati Rayudu Ravindra Jadeja, 8 MS Dhoni (captain, wk), 9 Matheesha Pathirana, 10 Tushar Deshpande, 11 Maheesh Theekshana, and 12 Akash Singh
