Kuldeep Yadav’s ‘Shane Warne’ Comparison Leaves Vaughan, Cook in Awe

Day 3 of the ongoing fourth Test between India and England provided a spectacle of epic action and drama. After India faced a setback on Day 2 with Shoaib Bashir’s impactful bowling, Dhruv Jurel showcased resilience on Day 3 with a determined batting display, scoring an inspiring 90 runs to limit England’s lead to a mere 46.

The Indian team delivered a sensational bowling performance in the second innings, restricting England to a paltry 145 runs. R Ashwin wreaked havoc with the new ball, while Kuldeep Yadav mesmerized England batsmen with his craft. Ashwin secured a five-wicket haul, while Kuldeep claimed four crucial wickets.

Reacting to Kuldeep’s stellar performance, former England legend Michael Vaughan showered special praise on the Indian spinner. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, he remarked, “The best compliment I can give @imkuldeep18 .. Today he has bowled like a left-armed Shane Warne.”

Delhi Capitals, Kuldeep’s IPL club, shared Vaughan’s tweet on X, which the former player retweeted, adding, “He absolutely would have loved how Kuldeep bowled today …”

Former England captain Alastair Cook also lauded the Indian spinners, acknowledging their impact on the turning pitch. Speaking on TNT Sports, Cook expressed, “Today we’ve witnessed India’s spinners wreaking havoc on a challenging surface, which was a concern for many of us before the series.”

“To secure a Test victory against this formidable Indian team in their own conditions, England must maintain top-notch performance for four full days… They were excellent for two and a half days, but in the last few hours, their performance slipped, allowing India to capitalize. England now faces an uphill battle,” he added.
