Kuldeep and Jadeja break records for India
The Indian left-arm spinner duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav became the first to grab seven or more wickets in an ODI match. The pair accomplished the feat on Thursday in Barbados during India’s five-wicket victory over the West Indies.
The best Indian bowler was Kuldeep, who finished with 4/6 in just three overs, while Ravindra Jadeja claimed three wickets for 37 runs. I anticipated a seamers’ paradise, and we are pleased with our team’s seven-wicket haul. There was some spinning and bouncing as well. We just try to work together, and competition is always good,” Kuldeep remarked following the game.
With more than 27 overs remaining, India stomped to a five-wicket victory, thanks in large part to Kuldeep and Jadeja’s thrashing of a hopeless West Indies outfit.
The home team, which lost the previous two Test series 1-0, was dismissed for just 114 off 23 overs after being put in, as they were entirely unable to handle the variations provided by Yadav’s wrist spin.
Ishan Kishan’s brash 52 kept India on track for the modest total, albeit the loss of three wickets near the end of the chase took some of the lustre off the victory.
