Jasprit Bumrah returns to Ahmedabad for Cricket World Cup clash, Says “Mother First Priority Before Pakistan”

The explosive World Cup match on Saturday against Pakistan’s bitter rivals takes a back seat, according to India’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, to seeing his mother one more time. In front of 132,000 spectators, Bumrah will compete in his hometown of Ahmedabad in the largest cricket stadium in the world. However, the 29-year-old puts his family first. “I’ve been gone for quite some time. Bumrah said after taking a magnificent 4-39 in Wednesday’s eight-wicket victory against Afghanistan, “I’ll be pleased to meet my mother at home.
After Bumrah’s father passed away unexpectedly shortly before he turned five, his school principal father, Daljit, raised him.

“I’m visiting her. For me, that is the first essential component. Bumrah will only concentrate on facing Pakistan after that, even if he hasn’t played a one-day international at the intimidating stadium, which is also the home of his Gujarat IPL team.

“I’ve played a test match there, but not a one-day game. It’s going to be an interesting environment. I have no doubt that a sizable crowd will attend. It will thus be a sight to behold. I certainly hope for the best there.

Bumrah, a self-professed supporter of Manchester United, placed his right index finger on his temple to mark the defeat of Afghanistan’s starting pitcher, Ibrahim Zadran. He emphasized that it wasn’t an homage to Marcus Rashford, the United attacker.

“Nothing similar. I did it because I felt like it,” he claimed.

Afghanistan was left biting their wounds as India celebrated their second victory in as many games after defeating Australia in their opener.

Following a setback to Bangladesh at the weekend and a loss on Wednesday, they are presently at the bottom of the 10-nation standings.

The only two Indian wickets to lose were to star leg-spinner Rashid Khan, who entered the fray only in the 15th over after India had already slammed to 125-0.

Former England batsman and coach Jonathan Trott stated that captain Hashmatullah Shahidi “obviously had a gut feel that he wanted to go with.”

“That’s a captain’s prerogative, but you want someone like Rash in the attack as soon as possible,” the captain said. We always take it into consideration.
