Jannik Sinner Overcomes Alexander Zverev To Secure Back-To-Back Wimbledon Championships

Jannik Sinner successfully retained the Wimbledon men’s singles title after producing a composed comeback to defeat Alexander Zverev 6-7(7), 7-6(2), 6-3, 6-4 in Sunday’s final at the All England Club.

The victory handed the world No 1 his second consecutive Wimbledon crown and fifth Grand Slam title, reinforcing his status as one of the game’s dominant forces.

Sinner faced an early setback after narrowly losing the opening-set tie-break but responded impressively by winning the second set in another tie-break before taking complete control of the contest. His consistency from the baseline, accurate returning, and calm approach under pressure enabled him to extend his winning streak against Zverev to 10 consecutive matches.

Although Zverev served brilliantly, striking 17 aces and winning the majority of his first-serve points, Sinner produced the better tennis during the decisive moments.

The Italian captured 80 per cent of points on his first serve, won 68 per cent behind his second delivery and converted two of his five break-point chances. He also outscored his opponent 145 points to 130 across the match.

Sinner created a championship point with a superb cross-court backhand winner before sealing victory with a powerful forehand down the line. He dropped to the grass in celebration before embracing Zverev at the net after the match.

For Sinner, the triumph marked another milestone in an already remarkable career, while Zverev’s pursuit of a maiden Grand Slam title continued despite another determined performance on one of tennis’ biggest stages.
