Iyer gets annoyed over reporter’s “Half-pitch ball” question

Shreyas Iyer, the standout middle-order batsman for Team India, became enraged with a reporter after the latter mentioned that he had trouble with deliveries that were pitched short.

Shreyas Iyer gave a truly outstanding effort on Thursday, November 2, during the IND vs SL, ICC Cricket World Cup match at the Wankhede Cricket Stadium in Mumbai. Iyer was asked about his difficulties with short-pitched deliveries. He gave a disgruntled look to the reporter.

Iyer was a little offended by the reporter’s query, so he added, “ Not a problem exactly, but it’s troubled you”.

Troubled me? Iyer answered. “Have you noticed the number of pull shots I’ve made, particularly the ones that went for four? No matter how short or how overpitched the ball is, if you’re trying to hit it, you will inevitably go out. You guys would all say. “He can’t play an inswinging ball, he can’t play a cut if the ball is seaming, “If I was bowled two or three times.

It is inevitable for us as players to miss any kind of delivery. You guys have made that big mistake outside saying, “He can’t play a short ball”, and I think that people are noticing from time to time. It keeps coming back in your thoughts, so you keep working on it, “he went on.
