ISSF World Cup 2023: Champion Rudrankksh Doubles ‘The Joy Of Gold’, India Takes Lead In 10m Air Rifle,10m Air Pistol

India takes home the mixed air pistol and air rifle gold medals to shoot up to the top of the medals table on the second day of competition in the World Cup in Cairo, Egypt, on Monday. Rudrankksh Balasaheb Patil and R Narmada Nithin and the 10m air pistol mixed team of Varun Tomar and Rhythm Sangwan clinched gold medals in their respective events at the ISSF(International Shooting Sport Federation) World Cup 2023.

Indian Dou Rudrankksh Patil and Narmada Nithin were brilliant as they beat the Hungarian pair of Eszter Denes and Istvan Peni 16-6 for the gold, in mixed air rifle, after having topped qualification with 635.8, a whopping 4.8 points ahead of the second best team. Rudnrankksh had shot 318.2 and Narmada matched him with 317.6.

Rudrankksh Patil Won Another Gold Medal For India

Reigning world champion Rudrankksh Balasaheb Patil won gold in the men’s 10m air rifle competition of the ISSF Shooting World Cup on Tuesday, 22 February. Extending India’s superiority in the tournament. World No. 1 Rudrankksh got the better of Germany’s Maximilian Ulbrich 16-8 in the gold medal contest.

Patil also topped the ranking round with a total score of 262.0, while Ulbrich scored 260.6. Earlier, Patil qualified for the ranking matches after finishing seventh in the qualification round with a score of 629.3. In the gold medal contest, Patil and Ulbrich were tied at 7-7 after the first seven single shots. However, Rudrankksh took the next three series to lead 13-7 despite the German coach calling for a timeout after the ninth series.

While, Varun Tomar who had bagged the air pistol bronze, combined with Rhythm Sangwan to win the mixed air pistol gold. The Indian pair beat the experienced Serbs, Zorana Arunovic and Damir Mikec 16-10, after having topped qualification with 583, one point ahead of the Serbian pair. India now has five medals, including three gold.
