Yashasvi Jaiswal played a commanding innings, finishing unbeaten on 77 to take Rajasthan Royals to 150/3 against Mumbai Indians in a rain-affected 11-over IPL 2026 fixture at the Assam Cricket Association Stadium on Tuesday.
Earlier showers had delayed the start of play by more than 2.5 hours.
Rajasthan Royals began positively after being asked to bat first, with Jaiswal immediately putting the bowlers under pressure. He struck multiple boundaries in the opening over from Deepak Chahar, collecting 22 runs.
Youngster Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continued the attacking approach by taking on Jasprit Bumrah and clearing the ropes twice in a single over.
Jaiswal carried on the assault by hitting Trent Boult for back-to-back sixes early in his spell. Sooryavanshi complemented him with aggressive hitting as the Royals reached their fifty in just 16 balls.
Although Hardik Pandya delivered a controlled over, the batters maintained a brisk scoring rate.
Sooryavanshi entertained with a flurry of sixes, including a strong over against Shardul Thakur. However, Thakur eventually dismissed him after a well-timed catch by Tilak Varma near the boundary, ending his rapid 39 off 14 balls.
Dhruv Jurel departed early after being trapped leg-before-wicket by AM Ghazanfar, reducing the Royals to 84/2.
Jaiswal continued to dominate, bringing up his half-century in just 23 deliveries and maintaining momentum with further big shots.
Captain Riyan Parag contributed a brisk 20 before getting out, adding valuable runs in the closing stages.
Jaiswal remained unbeaten till the end, ensuring Rajasthan Royals finished with an imposing 150/3.
Ghazanfar stood out among the Mumbai Indians bowlers with two wickets for 21 runs.
Rajasthan Royals’ total of 150/3 in 11 overs has set up a challenging chase for Mumbai Indians in the shortened contest.
