India’s Disability Cricket Team Meets Amit Shah After Memorable England Tour

India’s men’s disability cricket team, freshly back from a tour of England, met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Sunday.

The squad had travelled to the country for the India-England Men’s Mixed Disability T20 Series 2026, a campaign that ended on a memorable note.

Posting on the social media platform X, the Home Minister said he was glad to meet the team, which had returned from England after playing the India-England Men’s Mixed Disability T20 Series 2026.

Their efforts to win honour for the country and their determination, the Minister wrote, inspire India’s youth. He further added that he had conveyed his best wishes for their future endeavours.

Seven matches were played between the two sides. England took the opener by 29 runs before India levelled the series with a narrow six-run win in the second.

India then moved 2-1 ahead by beating England by eight runs in the third, only for the hosts to draw level again with a two-run victory in the fourth.

England pulled clear from there, winning the fifth match by 54 runs and the sixth by 18 to seal an unassailable 4-2 lead.

The series was already beyond India’s reach by the time the teams met for the final game, but on August 19 at Lord’s, the visitors produced a thumping 118-run win.

Batting first, India posted 206 for four in 20 overs, powered by innings of 68 from Arjun Gavare and 63 from Majid Magray.

England’s reply folded for just 88 in 13.4 overs. The Indian players celebrated the result from the Lord’s balcony, waving their jerseys.
