Persistent rain forced the abandonment of the fifth and final T20I between India and West Indies at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday.
India had reached 118/5 in 7.4 overs when the showers intensified, preventing further play.
The contest had already been reduced to nine overs per side following an earlier delay caused by rain.
Officials had set 10:21 PM as the cut-off for a possible five-over chase.
The worsening weather brought proceedings to a halt, and the match was eventually called off.
After India chose to bat, Keemo Paul extracted early movement with the new ball but bowled a no-ball and conceded five wides in the same over.
Abhishek Sharma struck a six off the free hit but departed for six on the next delivery, finding Shamar Joseph at mid-wicket.
Ishan Kishan then launched an aggressive counterattack, smashing 24 runs from Romario Shepherd’s opening over. His innings included a spectacular scoop over fine leg that cleared the stadium roof.
Kishan scored 30 off just 10 balls before Joseph dismissed him.
Sanju Samson continued the attack, helping India reach their fastest team fifty in T20 internationals in just 2.5 overs. He scored 16 before Shamar Springer bowled him with his first delivery.
Shreyas Iyer made 22 off 14 balls but fell to Paul at deep mid-wicket after surviving a run-out opportunity and a dropped catch.
Naman Dhir provided a late burst, scoring 24 not out from six deliveries. He struck two sixes and a four against Paul before rain interrupted play again.
Paul finished with figures of 2/34, while Springer claimed 2/17.
India: 118/5 in 7.4 overs (Ishan Kishan 30, Naman Dhir 24 not out; Keemo Paul 2/34, Shamar Springer 2/17).
