India has announced their line-up for the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, bringing back Yastika Bhatia and Radha Yadav, while including uncapped fast bowler Nandni Sharma for the first time.
Officials disclosed the squad at a media briefing held at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai, where captain Harmanpreet Kaur, chief selector Amita Sharma, and secretary Devajit Saikia addressed reporters.
The selection panel concluded discussions earlier in the day before finalising the 15-player squad, with Harmanpreet and head coach Amol Muzumdar taking part in the meeting.
The selected players will also represent India in a three-match T20I series against England scheduled between May 28 and June 2.
Radha Yadav rejoins the squad after delivering consistent performances, including her role in India’s T20I series win in England last year.
Yastika Bhatia also returns after completing her rehabilitation from knee surgery, which had forced her to miss the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup.
Nandni Sharma secures her place in the squad following a breakthrough campaign in the Women’s Premier League 2026, where she impressed with her pace and wicket-taking ability. She notably became the first Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in the competition.
Nandni Sharma’s inclusion strengthens a bowling attack that has been impacted by injuries to seam-bowling all-rounders Amanjot Kaur and Kashvee Gautam.
India will compete in Group 1 alongside Australia, South Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and the Netherlands in the tournament scheduled from June 12 to July 5.
The team will open their campaign against Pakistan on June 14 in Birmingham, before facing the Netherlands in Leeds (June 17), South Africa in Manchester (June 21), Bangladesh in Manchester (June 25), and Australia at Lord’s on June 28.
India has not yet lifted the Women’s T20 World Cup trophy, with their best performance being a runners-up finish in 2020.
After winning the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup at home, the team will look to carry momentum and claim its maiden title in this format.
