India Crowned Asia Cup Champions After Five-Wicket Win Over Pakistan

India emerged victorious in the Asia Cup 2025 final, defeating Pakistan by five wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Chasing a target of 147, India secured their ninth Asia Cup trophy and maintained an unbeaten run throughout the tournament.

India lost their top three batsmen – Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Suryakumar Yadav – early in the chase.

However, Tilak Varma steadied the innings alongside Samson (24) and Shivam Dube (33). Tilak’s commanding knock of 69 runs, featuring four sixes, ensured India crossed the finish line comfortably and clinched the title.

Batting first after losing the toss, Pakistan enjoyed a strong opening partnership. Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman put on 84 runs for the first wicket in just 9.4 overs.

Farhan scored 57 off 38 balls, including three sixes and five fours, marking his second consecutive fifty against India. Fakhar contributed 46 off 35 balls with two sixes and two fours.

Once the openers were dismissed, Pakistan’s innings collapsed under pressure from India’s bowlers. The team was bowled out for 146 in 19.1 overs, failing to reach the expected 200-run mark.

India’s spinners played a decisive role in restricting Pakistan. Varun Chakravarthy struck first, removing Farhan to trigger a collapse.

Kuldeep Yadav took four wickets for 30 runs in his four-over spell, while Akshar Patel captured two wickets for 26 runs. Varun Chakravarthy finished with two wickets, and Jasprit Bumrah added two more, sealing Pakistan’s fate.

India’s victory was a combination of resilient batting under pressure and relentless bowling.

Tilak Varma’s match-winning innings and the spinners’ dominance proved pivotal, highlighting India’s ability to perform in high-pressure finals and reinforcing their position as Asia’s cricketing powerhouse.
