IND vs NZ: Shreyas Iyer has been eliminated from the three-match ODI series against New Zealand due to a back injury. The right-handed batsman is a valuable player in the ODI team. Shreyas Iyer was expected to play a big role in the ODI series against the Black Caps. But the injury of team India’s star batsman is a big blow for the team. The team introduced Rajat Patidar in place of Iyer. Patidar was part of the ODI series against South Africa and Bangladesh last year. But he has not made his ODI debut yet and it is expected that he will get a chance in the team against New Zealand. The right-handed batsman plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given this information by issuing a statement. He has told that Shreyas has been kept out of the series due to a back injury. Now Shreyas Iyer has been sent to National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore for rehab.

The year 2022 was memorable for Shreyas Iyer. He ended this year scoring 724 runs in 17 matches, the highest for India. He batted with an average of 55.69 and a strike rate of 91.52. But the beginning of the year 2023 was not good for him. Fans expected that he would make a strong comeback against New Zealand. However, the player will not be participating due to his back injury. The 28-year-old made his debut in the series against Sri Lanka. But could not convert them into big scores. Iyer scored 28, and 38 in three innings against the Dasun Shanaka-led side. Iyer is not yet a part of the T20I team.
