ICC Makes An Important Announcement Regarding India Vs Pakistan; READ To Know About It

International Cricket Council (ICC) made announcements regarding the schedule for the upcoming Men’s ODI Cricket World Cup 2023. Apart from the schedule, there were several other announcements made by ICC. One of those announcements has caught the eyes of cricket fans as it relates to the most tense India – Pakistan Match.

ICC, through a Tweet shared the schedule in which, there are ten teams competing against each other over ten venues in the nation. The tournament will start on October 5 and will conclude on November 19th. Both the commencing and the concluding match to take place at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. Other venues include Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune. In addition to this, Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram will host practice games along with Hyderabad.

The ‘important’ announcement

The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai will host the first semi-final, according to the schedule, while Kolkata’s famous Eden Gardens will play host to the second semi-final. There is a restriction on this configuration, though.

As the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made a request that none of their World Cup games should be scheduled in Mumbai, ICC and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have jointly come up with a decision. The decision states that in Pakistan reaches semi–finals, they will play match in Kolkata only. In addition to this, if India and Pakistan both reach the finals to face each other, then also the match will be held in Eden Gardens and not Wankhede.
