Harmanpreet, Deepti Shine As India Beat Zimbabwe By 121 Runs To Clinch ODI Series

India’s women’s cricket team defeated Zimbabwe by 121 runs in the second ODI at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara on Sunday, taking an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

The hosts had previously swept the T20I series 3-0 in Raipur before winning the opening ODI by nine wickets.

The final match will take place in Vadodara on October 28.

India recovered from an early setback after electing to bat, posting 328/6 through impressive centuries from Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma.

Captain Smriti Mandhana fell for a duck, while Shafali Verma managed eight runs, leaving India at 19.

Harmanpreet then combined with Pratika Rawal for a 124-run third-wicket stand off 118 balls.

Rawal contributed 61 off 67 deliveries, including four fours and two sixes. Harmanpreet and Deepti subsequently added 153 runs off 137 balls for the fifth wicket.

Harmanpreet struck 126 off 121 balls, hitting 15 fours, while Deepti remained unbeaten on 106 from 86 deliveries, also recording 15 boundaries.

Zimbabwe managed 207 runs in 48.5 overs during their chase of 329.

Modester Mupachikwa scored 49, while Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano contributed 46 and Beloved Biza added 34. However, regular dismissals prevented the visitors from mounting a serious challenge.

Vaishnavi Sharma claimed four wickets for 39 runs, while Deepti took three wickets. Sayali Satghare, Jintimani Kalita and Sree Charani picked up one wicket each.

India’s comprehensive victory secured the series ahead of the final ODI.
