Gujarat Giants & Indian Men’s Hockey Team Engage In Unique Crossover Training In Bengaluru

As part of their Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 12 preparations, Gujarat Giants, owned by Adani Sportsline, participated in an engaging crossover training session with the Indian men’s hockey team at the SAI Centre, Bengaluru.

Mutual Skill Sharing and On-Field Camaraderie

Gujarat Giants’ players, Himanshu Jaglan, Rakesh, Parteek Dahiya, Nitin Panwar, and V Ajith Kumar, joined their coaching staff, including head coach Jaivir Sharma, assistant coach Varinder Singh Sandhu, and trainer Abhishek Parihar, in this interactive session.

They tried their hand at hockey while the Indian hockey team players experienced kabaddi drills in return.

This unique initiative allowed both teams to explore the technical and physical synergies between the two sports, emphasising shared attributes such as agility, strength, speed, and tactical intelligence.

Indian men’s hockey captain Harmanpreet Singh and chief coach Craig Fulton added excitement to the session by stepping into the kabaddi mat and attempting raids.

The fun-filled interaction, filled with laughter and friendly banter, offered a refreshing break from their regular routines.

The camaraderie between the two sporting disciplines highlighted the spirit of sportsmanship, with both teams exchanging jerseys at the end of the session as a token of mutual respect.

While the Indian men’s hockey team prepares for its Australia tour and the Asia Cup, Gujarat Giants continue their pre-season camp at the Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence, also in Bengaluru.

They are set to begin their PKL 12 campaign against U Mumba on August 30 in Visakhapatnam (Vizag).
