Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals are set to meet in a high-pressure Qualifier 2 fixture of IPL 2026 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh, on Friday evening.
The victorious side will progress to the final against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
The encounter carries massive significance for both franchises, as defeat will end their campaign while victory will keep their championship ambitions alive.
Gujarat Titans entered Qualifier 2 after losing to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, whereas Rajasthan Royals advanced by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the play-offs.
Rajasthan Royals will expect another strong performance from young opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who played a remarkable innings of 97 runs from just 28 deliveries against Sunrisers Hyderabad. His explosive batting has emerged as a major strength for Rajasthan and could create serious problems for Gujarat’s bowling unit.
RR secured a dramatic place in the knockouts after overcoming the Mumbai Indians in their final league-stage match at the Wankhede Stadium.
Both teams are aiming to lift their second IPL trophy this season. Rajasthan Royals won the inaugural IPL title in 2008 and are now attempting to return to the final once again.
The Gujarat Titans are hoping to add another championship to their record after winning the tournament during their debut season in 2022.
