The competition’s championship match was initially scheduled for May 28 (Sunday), but the rain made that day impossible to play; therefore, the game was moved to May 29 (Monday). Before it ultimately came down to 10 needed off 2 balls and Ravindra Jadeja on strike for Chennai and Mohit Sharma with the ball in hand for GT, the match veered one way and then the other.
