Cricket South Africa (CSA) has revised the schedule for India’s women’s tour by including a three-match Twenty20 International series at the end of the multi-format assignment in December 2026.
The cricket board said the extra fixtures would serve as important preparation for the inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy, which will take place in Sri Lanka in February 2027.
India last toured South Africa in April for a five-match T20I series ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, where the visitors suffered a 4-1 series defeat.
The tour will commence with a standalone Test at St George’s Park in Gqeberha from December 9 to 12. The action will then shift to the 50-over format as both teams meet in a three-match ICC Women’s Championship ODI series.
The two teams will play the three-match ICC Women’s Championship ODI series in Paarl on December 16, Cape Town on December 19 and Bloemfontein on December 22.
CSA has scheduled the newly added T20I series after the ODI leg.
The opening match will be held on Boxing Day, December 26, at Willowmoore Park in Benoni, while Potchefstroom’s NWC Oval will host the remaining fixtures on December 29 and 30.
CSA Chief Executive Officer Pholetsi Moseki said the addition of the T20I series would provide the Proteas Women with high-quality preparation ahead of next year’s ICC Women’s Champions Trophy. He also described India as one of the leading teams in international women’s cricket and said playing against such strong opposition in all three formats would help South Africa continue its preparations for another major ICC event.
