Bumrah’s sensational spell of 3-14, complemented by 15 dot balls, proved to be the game-changer as India successfully defended a modest total of 119.
The match started with fast bowlers Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf wreaking havoc for Pakistan, restricting India to just 119 runs in 19 overs.
Despite Rishabh Pant’s resilient knock of 42 runs off 31 balls, India faced the daunting task of defending their lowest total ever in T20.
However, Bumrah emerged as the hero for India with his exceptional bowling performance.
He struck early by removing Mohammad Rizwan and continued to wreak havoc on the Pakistani batting lineup.
Supported by Hardik Pandya, who claimed 2 wickets for just 6 runs, and other bowlers, including Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, and Axar Patel, India managed to restrict Pakistan to 113/7.
Chasing a target of 120 runs, Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan provided a solid start.
However, Bumrah’s brilliance came to the forefront as he dismissed key batsmen, including Azam and Rizwan, to put India back in the driver’s seat.
Despite some resistance from the Pakistani batsmen, India maintained their composure under pressure.
With crucial breakthroughs at regular intervals, India managed to defend their total, clinching a memorable victory over their arch-rivals.

Despite a promising start, they lost wickets at crucial junctures, with Pakistan’s bowlers dominating the proceedings.
However, Pant’s gritty innings provided some stability to India’s innings, allowing them to post a competitive total.
In the end, it was Bumrah’s stellar performance with the ball that proved to be the decisive factor, earning him well-deserved accolades and sealing a memorable win for India in the highly-anticipated encounter against Pakistan.
