BCCI Announces 2026–27 Home Season; Rohit, Kohli Set For Packed International Calendar

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has published the complete itinerary for the 2026–27 home season.

India will play 22 international matches across 17 cities, hosting West Indies, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, and Australia in multiple formats.

The M Chinnaswamy Stadium will host international fixtures again after a gap since October 2024. The venue had remained unavailable following a tragic stampede linked to Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s celebrations in 2024.

The Barsapara Cricket Stadium is set to stage a Test match in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the first time. This will be only the second red-ball fixture at the ground since its establishment.

India’s home season will start with the West Indies tour from late September to October. The series will include three ODIs followed by five T20Is, with matches scheduled across venues such as Trivandrum, Guwahati, Lucknow, and Bengaluru.

Sri Lanka will tour India in December for a white-ball series comprising three ODIs and three T20Is. One of the ODI matches is slated for Delhi, a venue that has previously faced concerns over winter air quality.

Zimbabwe will visit India at the start of 2027 for a three-match ODI series. Matches will be held in Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Mumbai, offering fans in key cities the chance to watch international cricket.

The season will conclude with the much-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia from January to March.

The five-Test series will begin in Nagpur and continue in Chennai, Guwahati, Ranchi, and Ahmedabad.

By spreading fixtures across multiple cities, the schedule aims to bring international cricket closer to fans while strengthening the sport’s infrastructure across India.
