SC Issues Notice To UP Govt On Appeal Filed By Samajwadi Party Leader Swami Prasad Maurya

Supreme Court issues notice to Uttar Pradesh government on an appeal filed by Samajwadi Party leader Swami Prasad Maurya challenging an Allahabad High Court order by which it had dismissed his plea seeking direction to quash legal proceedings in a Pratapgarh district court concerning the case of remarks against ‘Ramcharitmanas’.

The Top Court also stays the criminal proceedings in the case.
