Prime Minister Narendra Modi says, “No government has done as much work for the farmers as our government. In the last 10 years, our small farmers have got the direct benefit of every public welfare scheme. Crores of pucca houses have been built, the biggest beneficiaries of which are the poor farmers and agricultural labourers. Toilets have been built in crores of houses in the villages. For the first time, tap water reached crores of houses in the villages. The biggest beneficiaries of this are my mothers and sisters of farmer families. For the first time, farmers and farm labourers have also got a pension facility. Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana has helped the farmers in difficult times. More than Rs 1.5 lakh crore has been given to the farmers in case of crop failure.”
