High Court Mandates Chandigarh Mayor Election Security: Councillors Vote Unaccompanied, Police Ensure Safety on Jan 30

Chandigarh Mayor election: Punjab and Haryana High Court orders that Chandigarh Municipal Corporation elections will be held on January 30 at 10 am. The councilors coming to vote will come without any security personnel and supporters. The security of councilors is the responsibility of the Chandigarh Police. The responsibility of security during the Municipal Corporation elections will be entirely of Chandigarh Police.
