DRI Lucknow Seizes 436 Indian Tent Turtles En Route from Kanpur to Varanasi: Wildlife Act Violation Leads to Detention and Handover to Forest Authorities

A team of DRI Lucknow at Varanasi intercepted one person travelling from Kanpur to Varanasi in a bus with illegal possession of Indian Tent Turtles (Pangshura Tentoria) that are protected under Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972 and recovered 436 live turtles. 436 turtles were seized and handed over to forest officials along with the detained person for further action
