Dr. Gautam Bhansali, Consultant Physician At Bombay Hospital Says JN.1 Variant Of Covid 19 Is ‘Mild’

On the new JN.1 variant, Dr. Gautam Bhansali, consultant physician at Bombay Hospital, says, “JN.1 is a family of the omicron variant, which is a very mild variant. It is just like the common flu or viral fever, there is nothing to worry about. There might be a surge in cases, but there will be no wave… The omicron variant wreaked havoc around the world, but in India, the affected recovered easily at home because 80% of our population was doubly vaccinated. Vaccination will play a major role in preventing another wave… Children, senior citizens and those with highly co-morbid medical conditions need to be very careful because their immunity is low.”
