Former promoters of Dewan Housing Finance Limited (DHFL) Kapil Wadhawan and Dheeraj Wadhawan got a blow from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court canceled the bail granted to both of them on charges of bank loan scam worth crores of rupees. NCLT had directed DHFL lenders to consider for its consideration, decision and voting the proposal to fully settle the mortgage lender’s dues of Rs 91,000 crore, including Rs 43,000 crore due in the first few years. The financial lenders had opposed the NCLT order as they had selected Piramal Group as the winning bidder for DHFL.
