As per the Information Received Professor Ravi Kant committed a crime by somewhere insulting or giving hate speech at some media platform or at some religious place.
This leads to the petition given below from a judgement passed on the Professor’s case. And finally the Writ was Quashed.
Here in the case we see the State Of U.P. Thru. Secy. Dept. Home, Govt. Up Civil Sectt. Lko., along with others Counsel as the respondent. On the other hand, as the petitioner Nitin Kumar Mishra, Counsel for Respondent :- G.A. Hon’ble Arvind Kumar Mishra-I,J, is seen in the case.
Now by going through the petition inch by inch here we find:
”Hon’ble Manish Mathur,J. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned AGA for the State. Petitioner has approached this Court with a request to quash the impugned first information report dated 10.5.2022 registered as F.I.R. No. 110 of 2022
The case is all about Mr Ravi Kant promoting A feud between two communities on religious issues about which on 10th May an F.I.R was registered against him under Sections of the IPC:
153A Whoever commits an offence specified in sub-section (1) in any place of worship or in any assembly engaged in the performance of religious worship or religious ceremonies, shall be punished with imprisonment which may extend to five years and shall also be liable to fine,
504 Whoever intentionally insults, and thereby gives provocation to any person, intending or knowing it to be likely that such provocation will cause him to break the public peace, or to commit any other offence,
505(2) in any place of worship or in an assembly engaged in the performance of religious worship or religious ceremonies, and
Section 66 of IT Act, Computer related offences. — If any person, dishonestly or fraudulently, does any act referred to in section 43, he shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years or with fine which may extend to five lakh rupees or with both.”
The above mentioned petition has been directed to the Hasanganj, Police Station, Lucknow.
