After a day’s rest, the Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi recommenced from Ujjain this morning on Thursday, December 1, 2022, and headed on its route to Agar Malwa, the final district of its Madhya Pradesh leg.
Former chief minister of Uttarakhand Harish Rawat, member of the Rajya Sabha Digvijaya Singh, former lawmaker Prem Chand Guddu, former president of the All India Mahila Congress Shobha Oza, and star Swara Bhasker were all spotted walking briskly with Mr. Gandhi.
On the 83rd day of the yatra, Swara Bhasker joined Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra at Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Pooja Bhatt angrily refuted an earlier assertion made by the BJP that performers receive payment for their “guest appearance” in Bharat Jodo.
On Thursday, Bollywood star Swara Bhasker participated in Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra in Ujjain. The actor arrived in Indore on Wednesday and was due to accompany Rahul Gandhi on a stroll this morning. Along with Swara Bhasker, other Bollywood stars participating in the yatra include Pooja Bhatt, Sushant Singh, Rashmi Desai, Riya Sen, and Amol Palekar.
Swara Bhasker, who is well known for her anti-BJP views, offered support for the yatra as it started and praised Rahul Gandhi’s efforts despite electoral setbacks, trolling, and personal insults.
Where credit is due, despite election setbacks, trolling, personal assaults, and ongoing criticism over his lack of effectiveness, @RahulGandhi has avoided engaging in either sensationalist politics or communal rhetoric. Given the situation of this country effort like @bharatjodo is commendable!” Swara tweeted in October.
The BJP recently claimed that actors are paid for their ‘guest appearance’ in the yatra which Pooja Bhatt who walked with Rahul Gandhi in Hyderabad vehemently dismissed.
Maharashtra BJP leader Nitesh Rane shared a screenshot of a purported WhatsApp message which called for the participation of actors at their own time slot. The Congress too dismissed the BJP’s claim and said those who joined the yatra stand for the cause.
During the yatra in Ujjain, Mr. Gandhi on Tuesday visited the famous Lord Mahakal Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlings in the country.
Before that, he had also offered prayers at the Omkareshwar Temple, another Jyotirlinga in the Khandwa district.
