Manish Sisodia arrives at his house in Delhi with permission from the court to visit his wife

Sisodia was initially permitted to see his wife in June, but he was unable to do so because she was admitted to the hospital following an abrupt decline in her health.

Manish Sisodia, a prominent leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and a former deputy chief minister of Delhi, visited his ailing wife Seema at home on Saturday. On Friday, a Delhi court gave him permission to see his wife in the presence of security from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. He is being held in Tihar Jail under judicial custody in relation to a case involving the purported excise policy scam.

Sisodia had previously asked for permission to spend five days with his wife. The application states that his wife experienced an acute attack of multiple sclerosis, an autoimmune disease affecting the central nervous system. Delhi Rouse Avenue Court gave permission for a seven-hour meeting but stipulated that Sisodia could not interact with the media or engage in any political activity.

Sisodia was initially permitted to see his wife in June, but he was unable to do so because she was admitted to the hospital following an abrupt decline in her health.

Before being detained by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in February and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in March of the same year, he held the portfolio of the excise department and served as the deputy chief minister. These arrests were connected to two distinct cases concerning the purported liquor policy scam.

In its charge sheet, the ED claims that Manish Sisodia, the current accused, was responsible for the generation of approximately ₹622 crore in criminal proceeds.
